The Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA), located in Oviedo, is the referral hospital Health Service of the Principality of Asturias. It is the national reference center for respiratory diseases of occupational origin through its center affiliated National Institute of Silicosis. It also is pointer Skull Base Surgery and Surgery of Parkinson’s Disease.
It also has accreditation as a national reference (CSUR) in Family Miocardipatías and treatment of refractory neuropathic pain. Founded in 1989, from the merger of the different hospitals in Oviedo, under the name of Central Hospital of Asturias; It took its current name from the 1990 agreement with the University of Oviedo. At present it is located in the resort of La Cadellada Oviedo, offering the complex 1,039 beds, accounting for 40% of single rooms and 33 operating rooms and other facilities.
